The main room of the shoe factory is filled with men, and some women, working hard to make a small living. The employees are paid based on each shoe they make.
Don Pablo and his sons work here together daily. One of his sons, Emanuel, is his apprentice. He is 14 years old.
Don Pablo's other son, Carlos, is putting some adhesive on the soles before they are attached to the bottom of the shoe. Carlos is 15 years old.
Don Pablo Reyes has been working in shoe factories for 35 years.

The smell of the shoe factory is comparable to rubber cement and burning leather.

Religion is a huge part of the girls lives. Everyday they attend daily prayer meetings and constantly are reminded of the good fortune God has bestowed on them.
Many of the people who sponsor the girls are going through difficult times economically. This leaves the orphanage's future up to God alone.
